Featured storyteller: Selena Coppock

Selena Coppock is a standup comedian, writer, and storyteller based in New York City.  She recently published her debut book, THE NEW RULES FOR BLONDES, a collection of essays celebrating and subverting the blonde stereotype, with It Books (HarperCollins).  Her writing has also been featured on McSweeney’s, xoJane, the Huffington Post, TheFrisky, and elsewhere.  Her storytelling abilities have been showcased on stages throughout New York and Boston, including RISK! (live show and podcast), Stripped Stories, and the Moth Story Slam (where she tied for 1st place with her “After Hours” story in March 2011).

Kambri is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Burn Down the Ground (Random House) and a renowned storyteller. She has performed on The Moth, Literary Death Match, Risk! and Mortified and has appeared at SXSW Comedy, UCB Theatre, Gotham Comedy Club. Also a public speaker, she has given speeches at the University of Texas, Texas Book Festival, University of Oregon, SXSW (South by Southwest), DeafHope, and many other schools, colleges, book festivals, and events.

Featured storyteller: Victor Quinaz

Victor directed and co-wrote the feature film Breakup at a Wedding. He is also the creator and director of PERIODS. Films, which has cultivated a cult like following with their semi-improvised costumed short period films. Released online, the series started with their viral PILGRIMS and has been featured in the LA Times, Huffington Post, Vulture, and listed as #15 in Time Out NY’s 50 Funniest Web Series.

James Bewley is a visual artist, performer, and writer, and has performed in storytelling and comedy events around the city, including:  Running Late with Scott Rogowsky, Tom Shillue’s A Funny Story, and The Soundtrack Series. He is the producer and host of the performance/podcast project, Dale Radio.

Tracy Rowland is a writer, storyteller and TV editor. She is also that rare New Yorker who likes to talk. Except she’s from New Jersey, which makes her rarer still. She has appeared onstage with The Moth, The Liar Show and the notorious BTK Band. She makes her living as a promotion and marketing editor and is, among other things, responsible for that Dateline promo involving 50-year-olds

Featured character performer:

Rob Webber is a performer/writer working at the Upright CItizens Brigade and Magnet Theaters. He can currently be seen writing and performing sketch comedy with CA$H, a sketch team at the Magnet Theater.
